Today I woke up at 2 a.m. to get picked up by @CardiganGirl to go on an photo adventure! Today was also the first day I ever met @CardiganGirl. Let me explain.
I met Andrea a.k.a @CardiganGirl through Instagram to not only find out that she has a true passion for photography, but also that she lives less that 30 minutes away from my hometown of Livingston, CA. We communicated back and forth through Instagram and I asked her if she would go on a photo adventure with me since I do not know anyone else here in the Central Valley that is adventurous and into photography as much as me. She agreed to go on an adventure with me.
Andrea suggested that we go to Mount Tamalpais to watch the sunrise, and also volunteered to drive us all. I agreed to the adventure because when I lived in San Francisco I never saw the sunrise at Mount Tamalpais and always wanted to do it. So today I was picked up by Andrea and her friend Yasmin, who would be our model, at 2:30 a.m. to drive nearly 3 hours to get to the Marin Headlands where Mount Tamalpais is located. We got there just in time before the sunrise to only found out the gates were not open until after the sunrise, but we still managed to get some awesome shots!
Overall, I consider today a successful, yet exhausting, day. I finally met another person that is not only into photography as much as me, but also is from the Central Valley! Not only the Central Valley, but less than 30 minutes away from my hometown. The Central Valley community of photographers, artists, and models is extremely limited, so I'm glad I met both Andrea and Yasmin today and we had our adventure. It was just an awesome way to meet people!
