Journal Entry 8 | Melissa's Quinceañera

Last year, almost exactly a year ago, I photographed my last event. I told myself I was never going to photograph another event again. One of the reasons was because I wanted to focus on just outdoor photo sessions as well as travel and photograph different areas (still has not happened yet), and the second reason was that I was not going to have enough time for it due to the beginning of my career in the education field. However, yesterday, that kind of changed.

One of my friends, Johnny, needed help photographing a quinceañera yesterday, so he contacted me and asked me if I was able to help him out. Now, both Johnny and I have photographed events from 2010 to 2014. In October 2014, I told him I could no longer do it because I needed to turn my focus to other things I wanted to to do with my photography as well as focus on my career in the education field. Out of desperation though, Johnny contacted me to help him out, and I said it was not a problem. Doesn't hurt to help out a friend, right? As exhausted as I was, I did enjoy all the events we have done together. Here's some photographs from yesterdays.

P.S. If you are wondering, will I photograph other events? For now, the answer is most likely no, but who knows, maybe in the near future I'll be back to photographing events such as birthdays and weddings.
